SPIRIT ON THE COURSE
Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2007

Objectives
Calling all cheer team from schools, companies, organization and even group of friends. Recognizing the powerful effect cheer teams have on runners, “Spirit on the Course is designed to line the race route with cheer teams, who will provide a powerful source of spiritual energy and motivation for runners. With cheer teams lined along the race course, cheers, chants and claps will generate a vibrant and spontaneous environment for runner and hype up the race route. The colorful costumes, banners and placards of the cheerleaders will brighten up the scenery of the race route, adding color to the whole event.
Prizes
First Prize : S$1500 Cash + Challenge Trophy + Medals
Second Prize : S$1000 Cash + Medals
Third Prize : S$500 Cash + Medals
Most Creative Costume Award : S$200 Cash
Best Banner / Placard Award : S$200 Cash
Each team member will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
Note: Maximum 20 medals per team.
Criteria
1. Each school / company / organization / group may send in more than one cheer team.
2. Team constitution: Minimum 5 members per team, up to a maximum of 20 members.
3. If the cheer team is representing a school / company / organization, the team must be current students, employees or members of the school / company / organization.
4. The competition is on the race day, Sunday, 2 December 2007, between 6.30am to 2.00pm.
5. Cheer teams are required to send one to two representatives to attend a compulsory briefing on Friday, 23rd November OR Saturday, 24th November at 4.00 p.m. at the Singapore Sports Council, National Stadium West Entrance, Gold Room.
6. The first 10 cheer teams that register before 26 October 2007 will be entitled to select their performance spot based on a first-come, first-served basis.
7. Subsequent spots will be allocated by ballot in the presence of all teams’ representatives, by the organizers during the briefing.
8. Designated cheer teams are required to report punctually to the “Cheer Spot” at the designated time on the race day, in their costumes and banners / placards.
